As announced a month ago, the manga was written and illustrated by Umi Shiina, Aono-kun ni Sawaritai kara Shinitai ((I want to hold Aono-kun so badly that I might die), made an important announcement in the latest issue of the magazine Monthly afternoon. This indicated that the plant has entered its final story arc.

Umi Shiina started publishing the manga through the magazine Monthly afternoon in December 2016. The publisher Kodansha released the seventh compiled volume in September 2020, followed by the eighth on May 21 in Japan. The manga inspired a live action series by Impressive, which will debut in Japan in spring 2022.

Synopsis of Aono-kun ni Sawaritai kara Shinitai

Yuuri Kariya is an airhead who falls in love with Ryuuhei Aono after meeting them for the first time. Yuuri's happiness knows no bounds when Aono surprisingly agrees to date her, and so she begins to enjoy her perfect relationship with her perfect boyfriend. Unfortunately, disaster occurs when Aono tragically dies in an accident after just two weeks in their relationship. But is something as simple as death really enough to tell the two lovers apart? Aono-kun ni Sawaritai kara Shinitai follows the daily life of this bride and groom and tells a moving love story of two souls that go beyond life and death.
