Neil Druckmann is undoubtedly one of the prominent personalities of Naughty Dog. Director, screenwriter, author, video game developer, many roles that make him one of the top figures of the studio and therefore of projects like Uncharted and The last of uswhich also enriches outside of the game world.

In fact, Neil Druckmann has also grappled with it over the years Writing The Last of Us: The American Dream, along with Fatih Erin Hicks. This four-volume short story chronicled Ellie’s childhood and thus served as a precursor to video games. Druckmann himself had some Easter Eggs built into Uncharted 4 over time, a very special one: a poster on the fridge from The Last of Us: American Daughters.

This poster, which has since gone viral among fans of the video game and series, features a female character – possibly Ellie herself – wearing a flashy gas mask, gun in hand, and a pronounced belly reminiscent of a pregnant woman. The Last of Us: American Daughters has been talked about a lot over the years, but there has never been anything concrete. However, a tweet from Neil Druckmann himself suggests that this story is being worked on.

After the last episode of The Last of Us, which the author himself shared, he also tweeted the The Last of Us: American Daughters poster, writing: “Every journey has a beginning…and an end. See you Sunday!” This certainly cryptic phrase could portend the arrival of a new comic in the series, or at least one Project related to American daughterswhich will be announced to coincide with the airing of the final episode of The Last of Us series, which arrives on Sunday March 12th.

We’ll just have to wait a few more days before we find out what’s brewing in the brilliant author’s mind.
