During a live event commemorating the third anniversary of the smartphone game The Idolmaster Million Live! Theater Days, the company Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that the video game The Idolmaster Million Live! will be adapted to anime. The statement did not reveal a release date.

Bandai Namco Games launched the video game for smartphones and browsers in 2013, as a spin-off from the main franchise The Idolmaster. The game features characters from 765 Productionas well as 37 new characters, and allows players to manage their own idol company and improve their skills. Subsequently, in 2018 the game ended its service.

Later, Bandai Namco Entertainment released the sequel The Idolmaster Million Live! Theater Days for Devices iOS and Android in June 2017. This new game introduced new mechanics to the franchise, such as being able to communicate with idols through taps on the screen.

Production team

  • Shinya Watada (Aikatsu Stars!, Gundam Build Drivers Re: RISE) is in charge of directing the anime in the studios Shirogumi Inc.
  • Yoichi Kato (Aikatsu!) is in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
