A press release announced that the manga was written and illustrated Masahito Soda, Megumi no Daigo: Kyuukoku no Orange (fireman! Daigo from the fire department), will have an anime adaptation, which will premiere in Japan in 2023. The production is done by the studios. The base of the brainLed by Masahiko Murata (Fumetsu no Anata e, Tsukumogami Kashimasu, Shikabane Hime: Kuro).

Masahito Soda began publishing the manga through the magazine in October 2020. Monthly Shōnen Magazine from the publisher kodanshaa sequel to the manga Megumi no Daigowhich he published in the magazine Weekly Shōnen Sunday from shogakukan between August 1995 and June 1999 with twenty volumes. The original manga has already inspired a film adaptation called as Me Gumi no Daigo: Kajiba no Baka Yaroureleased in July 1999 and produced by the studios sunrise.

Summary of Megumi no Daigo

Fire, Smoke, Adrenaline and Fear: When everyone is escaping a fire, some brave ones will run in to jump in. Firefighters risk their lives to protect others and Daigo Asahina always dreamed of being one of them. He just graduated from the training academy and was just assigned to the Medaka-Ga-Hama Fire Station. Smug and cocky, Daigo takes a few calls and is quickly humiliated and put in his place: he has a lot to learn before he can call himself a real firefighter.
