Written on the official site for the anime adaptation of the light novels by Daisuke Aizawa and illustrated by touzai, Kage no Jitsuryokusha or Naritakute! (The Eminence in the Shadows) a new promotional video for the project was unveiled. The video shows the characters delta, epsilon, zeta Y andand maintains the release date scheduled for next October in Japan.
A similar video featuring the characters was released in June. beta Y gamma.
And in May, the first video of this kind with a leading role was released alpha.
Aizawa and Touzai began publishing the light novels through the publisher Kadokawa in November 2018 with a manga adaptation by anri sakano published in the magazine Monthly comp ace since December 2018. Finally, a spin-off manga written and illustrated by mushroomjustified Kage no Jitsuryokusha or Naritakute!: Shadow Gaiden (The Eminence in the Shadows: Shadow Side Story) will be published via the journal Monthly comp ace since July 2019.

Big heroes and fiendish villains are the kind of characters people crave, but that's not the case with Cid Kagenou. He aspires to be the mastermind behind it all, to pull the strings and let his machinations drive the whole story forward. In his previous life in Japan, he failed to achieve his goals, but now, reborn in a world of magic, he will show the true eminence of the shadow! While pretending to be just another filler character, Cid recruits members of his (fake) Shadow Garden organization with the goal of defeating a mysterious cult that lurks in the shadows. His (fake) organization against the disgusting (but surprisingly real) Cult of Diabolos.
