On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, Blue lock, a new promotional video of the project was released. The video reveals additional cast members and confirms that the premiere is scheduled for next October 8th in Japan, in addition to showing a fragment of the opening theme titled "Chaos ga Kiwamaru" performed by Unison Square Garden.
New cast members include:
- Natsuki Hanae as Ikki Niko.
- Ryūta Suzuki as Junichi Wanima and Keisuke Wanima.
- Takahiro Sakurai like Sae Itoshi.
On the other hand, Kaneshiro and Nomura publish the manga in the magazine Weekly Shōnen Magazine from the publisher Kodansha since August 2018. The work has already circulated more than 5 million cumulative copies and won the “Best Shonen Manga Award” in the forty-fifth edition of the lso Kodansha Manga Awards.

Synopsis for Blue Castle
The story begins with the elimination of the Japan national team from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, prompting the Japan Football Union to launch a training program to prepare a squad of high school students to compete at the 2022 World Cup. Isagi Yoichi, a forward, receives an invitation to join this program shortly after his team missed an opportunity to compete at the Nationals because he passed the ball to his less-experienced teammate who obviously missed the shot, which was on Isagi's cowardice dictates not to dare complete the game on her own.
Their coach will be Ego Jinpachi, who wants to end the idea of a "weak Japan in football" with a radical new training program: isolating and confining 300 young forwards in a prison-like facility called "Blue Lock" for a rigorous training that will include "the greatest most talented and selfish striker in the world".
