On the official site for the new anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Kazushi Hagiwara, Bastard!! Heavy metal, dark fantasy (Bastard!!: Ankoku no Hakaishin) the production of a second season of the project was announced. This second season is titled Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy – Requiem of Hell Arc (Bastard!!: Ankoku no Hakaishin – Jigoku no Chinkonka-hen) and is set to premiere in Japan sometime this year.
The press release revealed new voice cast members for this second season, including:
- Takuma Terashima like Joshua Berahia.
- sho hayami like Nils John Mifune.
- Junichi Suwabe like Yngwei from Mattstrom.
- kojiyusa as Zion Sol Vanderberg.
The first season of this anime adaptation had a total of twenty-four episodes that were released in two parts within the platform. Netflix in 2022. For his part, Hagiwara published the original manga in the magazine ultra jump from the publisher shueisha between October 1987 and May 2010, the work being compiled into a total of twenty-seven volumes. The work inspired a six-episode anime adaptation in OVA format produced by the studios AICLed by Katsuhiro Akiyama and screenplays written by Hiroshi Yamaguchireleased August 1992.
