Written on the official site for the anime adaptation of the light novels by Yu Tanaka and illustrated by SICK, Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita (Reborn as a sword) the second promotional video of the project was released. The video confirms that the premiere is slated for October 5 in Japan and reveals the project’s musical themes, including:
- Kishida Kyoudan and the Akeboshi rockets the opening theme will be entitled “Reborn as a sword“, while Maon Kurosaki will be the final theme entitled “moreβ.
Yu Tanaka began publishing the original novels through the independent service Shousetsuka ni Narou in October 2015 and they are still in the process of being released. Subsequently, its publication by the editorial began micro magazine in July 2016 and currently already exceeds 2 million cumulative copies in circulation. The work inspired its manga adaptation through Tomowo Maruyamapublished through the Service Comic Boost from the publisher gentosha since December 2016.

Summary for Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita
The hero differs from the usual protagonists of Isekai stories in that he is reincarnated as a sword. He begins his quest by appearing in the middle of a beast-infested forest, only to stumble upon an injured girl desperately fleeing for her life. The couple saves her from her attackers, meets and the girl introduces herself as Fran. He has a difficult past, having been enslaved and mistreated by his tribe, the Black Cats. Since the hero cannot remember the name of his past life, the young and stubborn Fran gives him the name “Shishou” and becomes its bearer. From there, Shishou and Fran become a formidable team, embarking on missions to liberate the oppressed and bring justice.
