Launched by A-1 Pictures with the film Sword Art Online Progressive: Aria of a Starless Night, the project enters its second phase with the next film arriving in Japan on September 10, 2022. As the years go by the work of Reki Kawahara has occupied a rather relevant position in the isekai genre, one of the most followed in today's panorama, and the first animated transpositions and the first feature films aimed at collecting and rationalizing the events narrated in several novels also have this success fueled.
Aware of Asuna's character's popularity, Kawahara transformed the early stories from her point of view while still offering something Insights into different aspects of the world of Aincradthus bringing the Progressive series to life.
