The platforms Netflix listed that the episodes corresponding to the second half of the third season of the anime adaptation of the light novels were written by Reki Kawahara and illustrated by ABC, Sword Art Online, also known as Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of the Underworld They will arrive in their Latin America catalog on February 6th. The popular platform will treat this new series of episodes as the “fourth season” of the anime.
At the moment it is only known that the series would be released with its original audio in Japanese and subtitles in Spanish and English.
The series Sword Art Online: Alicization is the adaptation of the “Alicization Arc” of the light novel series by Reki Kawahara which were aired a total of four arcs. War of Underworld consisted of 23 episodes, the first 12 of which aired in the first part, which was released in October 2019.
Reki Kawahara began publishing the novels independently in 2002 and later published them through the publisher Kadokawa in April 2009 with 23 volumes so far. The franchise is one of the most successful light novel series in Japan and is considered by fans to be the light novel of the decade.
Synopsis for Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld
Despite the defeat of Quinella – the Pope of the Church of the Axiom – things don’t seem to be calming down just yet. Kazuto “Kirito” Kirigaya contacts the real world and discovers that the Ocean Turtle – a mega floater controlled by Rath – has been ambushed. Due to a sudden short circuit caused by the attackers, Kirito’s liquid light is damaged, leaving him in a coma. Feeling unsafe for the people of the Axiom Church, Alice takes the unconscious Kirito back to his hometown, the village of Rulid, ignoring his banishment due to an unsolved crime. Now Alice lives an ordinary and peaceful life near the village and wishes Kirito would wake up. However, tragedy strikes when Alice realizes that the Dark Territory has already begun to invade the human empire. Resuming her previous alias Thirty Synthesis Alice, she vows to conquer the Dark Territory to defend the world that Kirito and Eugeo have worked so hard to protect.
