TV Asahi’s press release dropped a bombshell for anime aficionados: Honobu Yonezawa’sHow to Become Ordinary (Shoushimin)” series is set to hit screens in the Summer-2024 (July-September) anime lineup in Japan. Notably, Yonezawa is the mastermind behind the acclaimed “Hyouka” series.

The upcoming anime will breathe life into “The Case of the Springtime Limited-Edition Strawberry Tart (Shunki Gentei Ichigo Tart Jiken)” and “The Case of the Summertime Limited-Edition Tropical Parfait (Kaki Gentei Tropical Parfait Jiken)”.

Yonezawa kicked off the novel series with Tokyo Sogensha back in December 2004, starting with “The Case of the Springtime Limited-Edition Strawberry Tart”. The saga continued with “The Case of the Summertime Limited-Edition Tropical Parfait” in April 2006, followed by autumn and Paris-themed mysteries. The fifth volume, “The Case of the Wintertime Limited-Edition Chocolate Bonbons”, is set to tantalize readers in April 2024.

He and his classmate Osanai, sharing this dream, aim to blend into high school as ordinary citizens. Yet, their quest for normalcy is plagued by a string of enigmatic incidents. Will Kobato and Osanai ever find the tranquility they seek as ordinary citizens?
