Among the most famous animation studios in the world is without a doubt the most famous Studio Ghibli, with a history of great masterpieces and some of the most beloved directors of all time, most notably Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata. On the occasion of the arrival of 2021, the company wanted to reserve a pleasant surprise for the fans.
Punctually at midnight in Japan Studio Ghibli officially launched its Twitter channel to keep fans updated on projects and new titles in the pipeline. Right now, as far as we know, the famous animation studio is grappling with How Do You Live ?, the next film from Miyazaki which is proceeding at a turtle pace due to the director’s health conditions. With around 12 minutes a year, the staff hope to finish the film by 2023-2024.
We don’t know if the company is currently working on anything else after Earwig and the Witch, but the welcome chirp that spread as the profile opened is a good sign:

So we don’t know if Studio Ghibli has any new animated films in the pipeline, but the opening of the Twitter profile bodes well for a massive advertising campaign.
