During a special broadcast corresponding to the event Fantasy Bunko Online Festival 2022It was officially announced that the light novels were written by takemachi and illustrated by Tomari, Spy Classroom (Spy Kyoushitsu out), will be adapted to anime. This title is one of the new projects of the production company Kadokawa.

  • Shinichi Inotsume (Gangsta, PERSONA 5 the animation) is responsible for writing and supervising the screenplays.

Takemachi and Tomari began publishing the light novels via the imprint Fujimi Fantasia Bunko from the publisher Fujimishobo in January 2020. The publisher released the sixth volume in September 2021 and will release the seventh on March 19 in Japan. Finally the manga adaptation by hand Kaname Seu will be published via the magazine Monthly Comic Alive from the publisher Kadokawa since May 2020.

Summary of Spy Classroom

After a terrible war devastated the general populace, the world’s governments resorted to an elusive tactic to advance their plans: a war fought in the shadows. Lily, a beautiful white-haired girl, is a student at one of the many institutions that train young people to be skilled spies. Unfortunately, despite good grades in the written exams, he only just manages to pass the internship. With no real skills, his hopes of graduation are slim until he is offered a chance to join the mysterious “Tomoshibi” team and take part in an impassable mission. Excited at the prospect of working with the elite, Lily enthusiastically accepts. However, she is speechless when she arrives at Kagerou Palace and Tomoshibi’s true intention and desperate situation comes to light. Joined by other troublesome spies and a mysterious young man leading the operation, Lily realizes this isn’t the ideal getaway she had in mind.
