Several manga spokons have emerged in recent years. The climax came in 2010 with the famous Haikyu, one of the most popular and beautiful sports manga of all time. But Weekly Shonen Jump spawned another manga spokon, this time focusing on basketball playing in its own category: Slam dunk by Takehiko Inoue.
The author, who is also famous for βVagabondβ and βRealβ, following the saying about basketball, decided to update fans of the opera about the new slam dunk film project. It was actually announced the arrival of a last year Film dedicated to Hanamichi and other playersabout which, however, very little is known.
“I understand that I’ve been able to create something new for the path I’ve been following so far…I want to thank those who have read the manga on Jump and in the volumes, those who want the anime, and those who have him discovered the series only recently and not when it was released. I think the characters live on in me even after the series ends. Whenever I draw a new illustration for a new issue or for an artbook, I remember them and renew them as I breathe new life into them, I can say that This film is a new perspective on slam dunk. I worked on this film with the hope of breathing new life into it… production is now well into its final stages with the help of all the staff.”
The words of Takehiko Inoue are therefore clear: the Slam dunk film is in preparation. It has yet to be completed, but it won’t be long before players return to the pitches.
