During the event Anime Expo 2022, Warner Bros Japan revealed a promotional video for the second season of the anime adaptation of the manga written by takumifukui Y Shinya Umemuraand illustrated by Ajichika, Shuumatsu no Valkyrie (Recording of Ragnarok). The video confirms the production team and captures the premiere planned for 2023 Netflix.
The first season premiered worldwide in the platform's catalogue Netflix in June 2021 with a total of twelve episodes. For their part, Fukui, Umemura, and Ajichika began publishing the manga through the magazine Monthly Comic Zenon from the publisher Tokuma Shoten in November 2017.

Synopsis for Shuumatsu no Valkyrie
High above the human realm, the gods of the world have gathered to decide one single question: the survival of humanity. Under the leadership of Zeus, the deities of ancient Greece, Norse mythology and Hinduism, among others, convene a gathering every thousand years to decide the fate of mankind. This time, due to their relentless abuse of each other and the planet, the gods vote unanimously for the end of humanity.
But before the mandate is up, Brunhild, one of the 13 Valkyrie demigods, has an alternative suggestion: instead of annihilating humanity in an anticlimactic way, why not give it a chance and wage Ragnarok, a one-on-one showdown, through? Spurred on by the audacity of the challenge, the divine council quickly accepts, confident that this battle will demonstrate the absolute power of the gods. To stand a chance against the Supreme Beings, Brunhild must gather history's greatest characters or the death knell will ring for humanity.
