One week after the release in Japan, the first Blu-ray / DVD BOX of the anime adaptation of the light novels Seirei gensouki (Ghost Chronicles) only a cumulative 434 copies sold. The count only takes into account copies of the Blu-ray version sold, as DVD sales were so small that they didn't make the list.

This pack was released in Japan on October 6th and contains the first through sixth episodes of this adaptation. The Blu-ray version costs 19,800 yen (about $ 190) while the DVD version costs 16,500 yen (about $ 158). The benefits include an original novel by Yuri kitayama, a postcard illustration of flow and audiovisual promotional content of the project.

The series aired during the 2021 summer season (July-September) and had a total of twelve episodes while the platform Crispy roll takes care of sales in the west. Kitayama began publishing the novels through the website Shousetsuka ni Narou in February 2012 and then the publishing label HJ Bunk from the publisher Hobby japan began its publication on paper with illustrations by flow in September 2015.

Production team

  • Osamu Yamasaki (CAST: Songs Connection, Hakkenden: Tōhō Hakken Ibun, Time travel Shōjo: Mari Waka to 8-nin no Kagakusha-tachi) was responsible for directing the anime in the studios TMS entertainment in collaboration with studios Wao world, and is also responsible for writing and maintaining the series scripts.
  • Kyoko Yufu (CAST: Songs Connection, Inazuma Eleven: Ares no Tenbin, Dōkyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue) was responsible for the character design.
  • Yasuyuki Yamazaki (Bermuda Triangle: Colorful Pastrale, Madan no Ō to Vanadis, Shach, fight against Jikan Desu!) was responsible for composing the soundtrack.

Summary of Seirei Gensouki

Haruto Amakawa is a young man who died before reuniting with his childhood friend who disappeared five years ago, while Rio is a suburban boy seeking revenge for his mother's murder, which occurred at the age of five. Earth and another world, two people with completely different backgrounds and values. For some reason, the memories and personality of Haruto, who should have died, are revived in Rio's body. While the two are confused by the merging of their personalities, Rio decides to live in this new world.

Along with Haruto's memories, Rio evokes a "special power" and it seems that he could lead a better life if used well. But before that, Rio stumbles upon the scene of a kidnapping who turns out to be a princess from the kingdom of Bertram, in which he lives. After Rio saves her, Rio receives a scholarship to the Royal Academy, a school for rich and powerful young men. However, as a poor orphan boy in a naming school, it is an extremely hideous place for him.
