Juicy details were revealed during the Resident Evil Showcase, an event organized by Capcom that was streamed live during those hours Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, Animated film based on the video game series of the same name, which will be released on Netflix in the course of 2021.

Contrary to what was revealed at the announcement, Resident Evil: Infinite Dakness will not be a miniseries but a single 3D animated CGI movie. The movie’s protagonists will be two of the franchise’s most beloved faces, namely Leon S. Kenney and Claire Redfield. As Capcom animation producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi revealed, the events will take place some Years after the events of Resident Evil 4.

The trailer, which was presented during the Resident Evil Showcase, sees Leon coming in very elegant clothes involved in another zombie invasion. The film will be released worldwide on Netflix, but an exact release date has not yet been announced. 2021 will be the 25th anniversary of the franchise. To celebrate the occasion, the film should be released at the end of the year and mark the arrival of Resident Evil Village, the new video game in the saga.
