The anime re-broadcast Pop team Epic (Poputepipikku), which originally aired in January 2018, began on Japanese broadcaster TOKYO MX on October 9. Though announced as a re-broadcast, the first episode showed a complete change in the cast of the two leading actors: Popuko and Pipimi. Users were happy to share any new things they discovered and to make sure that "It is not an ordinary retransmission". Crispy roll sends this retransmission in Latin America.
The series is based on a Yonkoma manga (four panel) written and illustrated by Bkub Okawa and originally aired in a 30-minute block between January and March 2018. The episodes are divided into two parts, both practically the same, but changing the voice actors on each show. Masashi ebara and Yuuji mitsuya played Popuko in the first original episode while Houchuu ootsuka and Noriko Hidaka they played pipimi. This retransmission included, however Mama Koyama and Ryuusei Nakao already like Popuko Kotono Mitsuishi and Norio Wakamoto like Pipimi.
One of the representatives of the Japanese production company King records comments on this: «The cast are at their best in this remixed version of the series, which is filled with impromptu appearances from each cast member. Keep an eye out for new developments in the second and subsequent episodes».
Production team
- June Aoki (Gal to Kyouryuu, Nulu-chan to Boku) and Aoi Umeki (Gotoubun no Hanayome) were responsible for directing the anime in the studios Kamikaze-Douga. Aoki was also responsible for writing and overseeing the scripts, character designs and editing.
- gin (Aho Girl, Dokyuu Hentai HxEros, Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san) was responsible for composing the soundtrack.
Pop Team Epic Synopsis
Poputepipikku raises the absurd comedy with its pop-cultural references and surreal cheerfulness to eleven. With two true high school protagonists - Popuko, small and extraordinarily quick to anger, and Pipimi, tall and imperturbably calm - they toss genres against the wall and don't wait to see what's left. The parody is tied to the drama, action, rawness, and the overall goal of the series: to become a true anime.
