The famous Civil War storyline, in which Iron Man and Captain America went to war in 2006, and which was chosen by Marvel as the basis for the plot of the third Captain America film (read our Captain America Civil War review here), is here be reinterpreted by the famous cartoonist Peach Momoko.
The Japanese artist is actually at work Demon Wars: The Iron Samurai, new iteration of the Demon Days saga points to Shuffle Stories and characters from the Marvel Universe with elements of Japanese folklore. Specifically, in The Iron Samurai, Momoko will enact a story involving the presence of “a man in sentient samurai armor, a winged individual in a hawk mask, a panther persona, and a red snake-like monster with a deadly appetite“.
“I am very excited to be able to expand the series and show the love I have for Japanese folklore and how it inspires my new stories through my Momoko lens“said the Japanese cartoonist.”I’m also really looking forward to being able to reinterpret other characters because I love trying my hand at character design!“.
A recent example of character design by Peach Momoko is the illustration featuring an amalgamation of Gwen Stacy and Wolverine used as the variant cover for Gwenverse #2.
