To celebrate the success of James Gunn’s Peacemaker series, DC Comics proposes a one-shot signed by Garth Ennis entitled Peacemaker: Disturbing the Peace. It’s a DC Black Label comic that tells the tragic (and violent) origin story of Peacemaker.
While the series starring John Cena continues to garner acclaim (as evidenced by the Peacemaker’s Rotten Tomatoes score), Garth Ennis prepares to tell the origin of the superhero. Peacemaker: Disturbing the Peace will be a one-shot published in Prestige format designed by Garry Brown and intended for an adult audience like the other Black Label comics.
“Long before he joins the Suicide Squad, Christopher Smith, codenamed Peacemaker, meets a psychiatrist – a woman dangerously obsessed with her violent and bizarre past.“, reads the summary published by DC Comics.”From his tragic childhood to his military service abroad to numerous missions in the Special Forces, Smith has more than just a skeleton in his closet. But who is actually analyzing whom? What if this journey into memories leads to more victims?“.
Peacemaker: Disturbing the Peace #1 will be released on January 25, 2022 in the USA. Below, in addition to the main cover and some variants, we also share the sides of the Preview published by DC Comics. In June 2022 we will read another story from the British screenwriter: Indeed, Garth Ennis is working on a graphic novel for 2000AD.
