The Walt Disney Company announced the production of a new anime adaptation of the legendary manga, written and illustrated by osamu tezuka, Hello no Tori (Phoenix) that are titled Phoenix: Eden17 and which are produced by Studios 4Β°C. The distribution is of course supported by the platform disneyplusY the premiere is planned worldwide for 2023.

Hello no Tori (Phoenix) is an unfinished manga series written and illustrated by osamu tezuka. Tezuka considered Phoenix his "life's work"; with a total of twelve books, each telling a separate and independent story and set in a different era. The story was never completed as it was interrupted by Tezuka's death in 1989. Some of the stories have been adapted into anime series and OVAs, as well as a live-action film.

Phoenix synopsis

From time immemorial to the era of space colonization, there is one legend that has remained unchanged in all history books: the story of the immortal phoenix bird. A being whose blood is believed to bestow eternal life or wisdom, the radiant figure ensures the continuation of sentient life in the universe as it oversees human civilizations and their development.

Humanity, however, remains a slave to its habits; From happiness and sadness to anger and love, countless emotions remain an integral part of human life. At the same time, certain beliefs and schemes persist throughout the ages to upset the fragile balance of nature and the world's predetermined principles. It seems that fate and its dynamic variables can manifest themselves in many ways, often displaying an odd sense of humor...
