Often Eiichiro Oda did not want to delve into the history and genealogy of the characters ONE PIECE Reserve plot surprises to tell later. This also applies to the protagonist Monkey D. Luffy, who is related to important figures in the world such as the legendary Admiral Garp and the fearsome Revolution Dragon.

The same goes for Sanji, who was only discovered to be Vinsmoke during the Zou and Whole Cake Island saga after the full history of the family came to the surface. But the speech cannot be given for Roronoa Zoro, the swordsman whose origins are obscure but who became increasingly associated, particularly during the Wano saga, with the famous Shimotsuki family, a group of samurai also from the house of one of them was the country's daimyo, before its downfall at the hands of Kaido and Orochi.

And now in SBS of ONE PIECE Volume 105, Eiichiro Oda wanted not only to confirm his origin, but also to give the complete genealogy of Roronoa Zoro. The mangaka begins by saying, "There are so many questions about Zoro's genealogy. I don't think there's a need to elaborate on them any further, so I'm announcing them here." So begins the Zoros Family Tree page available below, which reveals just that Zoro's parents and family.

It all started 55 years ago when Shimotsuki Kozaburo, the creator of Enma, set sail from Wano along with 25 other people. Among these people were Furiko Shimotsuki, Ushimaru Shimotsuki's older sister, and the carpenter Minatomo. 52 years earlier, this group landed on a small island in the East Blue and settled there with ten members after saving a village from a bandit group. Thus was born the Shimotsuki legacy on the island.

Shimotsuki Kozaburo married a village girl and Shimotsuki Koshiro was born. The latter married an unknown woman and from this union Shimotsuki Kuina was born. Furiko also stayed on the island, who married a village swordsman, Roronoa Pinzoro. Their son was Roronoa Arashi, a warrior killed fighting pirates, who married Tera, the daughter of a criminal who later died of an illness. From this union Roronoa Zoro was born.

So we know i Names of Zoro's parents, namely Arashi and Tera. Essentially, the former daimyo Ushimaru who helped Yamato is also Zoro's great-uncle, tying the swordsman of ONE PIECE's protagonist crew to a very illustrious house.
