Shanks the Red is one of the most powerful characters in the entire universe of ONE PIECE, and despite his importance to Luffy, little is known about him. The film ONE PIECE: RED shed light on a detail regarding the origin of the Emperor, and in the Volume 104 SBS column, Eiichiro Oda promised new information about it.
Given Oda's deep involvement in the film's production and the respect with which some issues related to some characters' pasts have been addressed, any revelations included could play a role again in the manga as well. One of the information revealed in the film that has surprised the fans the most is this Shanks has a connection to the Fearland family.
