The last few days have been one of a big loss for the series ONE PIECEWhen Japanese actor Kunie Tanaka passed away at the age of 88, he was known for starring in two films directed by key director Akira Kurosawa and for inspiring flagship Kizaru from the work of Eiichiro Oda.
It is a peculiarity of the master Oda von portray the admirals of the Navy using the faces of famous actors in Japanese cinema, like Yusaku Matsuda, base for Aokiji, Bunta Sugawara Inspiration for Akainu and Shintaro Katsu for Fujitora. Kunie Tanaka began her brilliant career in 1959 and received five nominations for Japanese Academy Awards over the years, of which she won and became only one a real symbol of the 60s and 70s.
The character of Kizaru, also known as Borsalino, remains undoubtedly one of the most powerful in the universe where the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his companions take place, and can also throw powerful attacks with impressive speed thanks to Devil Fruit Pika Pika as we’ve seen several times on the series.
Recall that chapter 1009 showed a terrifying combination to conquer the sovereignty of the ocean and we leave you to an amazing cosplay devoted to the carrot.
Kunie Tanaka, the legendary Japanese actor who inspired Admiral Kizaru’s design, sadly passed away at the age of 88, the finale of the Admiral actor’s inspirations.
