The last story arc of ONE PIECE brings Monkey D. Luffy and the Mugiwaras to face other incredibly powerful characters. The protagonist, now emperor, will soon be vying with his mentor Shanks the Red, Bugy and the fearsome Blackbeard for the title of next pirate king.
All four emperors are featured in the illustration that will appear on the cover of the volume 105. As has already emerged from the various discussions that have started on the net, it is a reinterpretation with today’s style and design by the master Oda of the drawing created years ago for volume 25 of the series. The story of ONE PIECE has evolved, Luffy has been able to embark on new adventures, forge important relationships with other pirates who have become members of his crew, and thanks to his defeats and the unrest caused on many islands, he has been able to loot an ever-increasing bounty.
After showing the creative and design process of the cover, which depicted Luffy and Blackbeard fighting, Shueisha and the staff revealed Oda the final preview cover. As you can see in the post below, even the color chosen for the background of the illustration, dark orange, is very similar to the style of the old volume’s cover.
