In July 1997, a young man with high hopes was preparing for the publication of his first chapter in Weekly Shonen Jump. July 2021, ONE PIECE turns 24: The popular manga by Eiichiro Oda has blown out 24 candles on the cake in the last few hours.
In the years, ONE PIECE was very much appreciated and that’s exactly why it has managed to survive for so long in an ecosystem as difficult as that of the Weekly Shonen Jump. It’s the best-selling manga in Japan and one of the best-selling in the world, even surpassing Batman in the comic book space.
This long release has of course resulted in ONE PIECE having millions of fanswho shared the message and celebrated the work with congratulations. Each fan reacted in their own way, producing unique and unpublished images inspired by the pirate world created by Oda, or sharing striking scenes from the original manga. Someone else decided instead to devote themselves to a cosplay of Luffy and his companions or there are those who simply left a written message.
