As you can read in the @sandman_AP post at the bottom of the page, during the Jump party 2023one of the most relevant events for the future of Japanese animation and comics, limited to titles published by Shueisha, Oda wanted to pique fans’ interest by declaring that in the next twelve months we are witnessing one of the most anticipated and pivotal clashes could story: “Surprisingly, this character and this character will fight in 2023. I hope nobody dies!”
Obviously, such generic words have led to theories and hypotheses from the community. Some have enhanced the ability to see Luffy vs Akainuto avenge the death of his brother Portgas D. Ace.
