The cliffhanger from ONE PIECE 996, which was officially released on MangaPlus last Friday, has certainly amazed fans. It wasn’t the classic bombshell end, in fact, but one based on a gag. But it seems clear that Sanji will be the focus of the next chapter.
We’ll check it out cooking in action in ONE PIECE 997 which will be published on MangaPlus in English and Spanish on Sunday November 29th. The clues seem to lead to a confrontation, or at least an encounter, between them Sanji and Black Maria. Tobi Roppo is the only one standing in the castle without fighting, and until recently she worked with a song that cheered the soldiers in her room.
However, we also know that Sanji would not dare touch a woman and therefore a possible confrontation would be very difficult for him, unless a situation similar to that of Kalifa in the Enies lobby where he was rescued by Nami is repeated. But in the next chapter there is also a lot of anticipation for other collisions: Kidd seems to be loaded for the collision, and he too climbs the tower like Luffy. Killer will surely be in a battle, maybe against Queen and her henchmen.
And then, what big mom wants? The Empress has a clear plan and wants to go to Kaido, but apparently she wants to remain allied with him for the time being. What if the two emperors start fighting? Another fan doubt is one possible breakage of ONE PIECE: The Mangaka has now published three consecutive chapters and with the latest rhythms a break in the following week seems very likely.
