In the final stages of the Egghead saga, prior to the final arc of ONE PIECE, the Mugiwaras faced off against powerful foes. Luffy was the protagonist of a great rematch that was unexpected but much appreciated by the community, but managed to quickly demonstrate his superiority against one of Cipher Pol 0’s best agents.
As the Mugiwaras uncover more and more details, e.g important information about the mysterious Dr. Vegapunkthe world’s most brilliant scientist, who dedicated his life to discoveries and inventions that were then used by the world government to fight pirates CP0 she was just sent from the asylum to erase her existence.
Luffy’s odd request from Vegapunk meant the protagonists came into play against some of the members of CP0, including Rob Lucci. Years after the heated battle in the Enies Lobby, the two face off again after each awakening the powers of their respective Devil Fruits. Although in the past Lucci could make life difficult for Luffy this time the emperor demonstrated overwhelming superiority.
The Gear Fifth has made Luffy one of the most powerful characters in the series, and although the Mugiwara captain still cannot master it with consciousness, the abilities of the sun god Nika allow him to many advantages on the battlefield.
