The ongoing Onigashima War appears to have reached its final stage after the events of chapter 1026 of ONE PIECE. The tumultuous arrival of Luffy and Momo on the island began the final confrontation with Kaido, represented by a great splash page from Oda that wanted to surprise readers with an unexpected return.

After the attacks that tore the skies over Onigashima, the result of the encounter / clash between Kaido and Monkey D. Luffy, who is now as powerful as a real emperor, the famous mangaka actually decided to close the chapter in question with a cartoon depicting the whole of Kurozumi Orochi. is dedicated, Shogun of the country of Wa, beheaded by Kaido himself before several appointments.

As many of you know, the shogun and his devil-fruit derived powers are references to the mythological creature of Yamata no Orochi, a snake with eight heads and eight tails. Orochi received several beheadings throughout his life and later returned to administer his tyrannical rule over Wano.

Offended by Kaido’s betrayal, the shogun remained inconspicuous during the course of the fight and faced it Jack’s defeat by Storm Dog, that Oda shows us while she watches restlessly behind a Fusuma. The decision to end the chapter with a drawing dedicated to Orochi could mean that we will see the Shogun in action, perhaps in one, before it actually closes desperate attempt to take revenge on the emperor and regain power.

The images from chapter 1027 of ONE PIECE have already surfaced online, available Sunday, October 3, 2021 on Manga Plus, and we leave you to see a spectacular statue of Luffy as the pirate king, made by Skyline Studio.
