As many times in the history of NarutoHave you been passionate about giving Sakura a “useless” character? Despite her often ambiguous role, or worse, on the fringes of the narrative, Masashi Kishimoto entrusted her with a fairly important assignment, the origin of which depends on her name.
Sakura is a more important character than she seems, not so much because Kishimoto’s wife preferred her to Hinata, but mainly because of an interesting and profound detail. According to mythology, the cherry blossom, after which Sakura is named, is represents the “brevity of life” and at the same time a connection between the living and the dead. It is precisely for this reason that several characters have remembered loved ones who have died in the past through his character.
Sasuke, Kakashi, Gaara are just a few of the ninjas who remembered someone dear to them through Sakura’s appearance. Thanks to her again and again, Obito remembered Rin and so Minato his dear Kushinawithout forgetting the time when Sasori was defeated by a sudden step from Sakura that brought back memories of his parents. A character whose role suddenly seems more important than all the times when his character has been severely abused and criticized.
