In My Hero Academia, the importance of hero costumes is emphasized several times. The protagonist Izuku Midoriya worked a lot on his and in the last few chapters of the manga we saw a truly incredible version, but many of his classmates opted for simpler solutions, and Among these is the "small" Minoru Mineta.

Mineta's hero costume has always caused a lot of confusion, and One of the less clear points is undoubtedly the lower part. In fact, many fans continue to confuse the design of the grape trousers with that of a kind of diaper, both because of the disproportionate size and because of the stature and posture of the aspiring hero.

However, the Omakes from Volume 8 of My Hero Academia hit us and show us that in reality the pants have a very specific design for a very specific reason. On the utility front, The grape trousers allow Mineta to keep her "grape".These are the sticky objects that the hero can detach from his own head in order to use them at a later date or to set traps. Using the "Pop Off" quirk too often can cause bleeding. Hence, the hero has to get some sticky items back and reuse them.

The design, on the other hand, is not that of a diaper, but a bowl of grapes. Horikoshi likes to joke about the names and looks of his characters, and in this case Mineta would have to fight "in a bowl" since her hair is like grapes.

And what do you think? Did you know already? Let us know in the comments! In the meantime, we remind you that you can see Mineta in action in Episode 10 of My Hero Academia 5, which was released on Crunchyroll on Saturday May 29th.
