As it turned out from chapter 336 of My Hero Academia, Horikoshi’s previous cliffhanger was all a farce. Toru Hagakure (aka Invisible Girl) wasn’t exactly the double agent for All For One and the. worked Truth about the real traitor is what was discovered in the next chapter.
Like many of the things Kohei Horikoshi included in his manga, this betrayal’s revelation, anticipated by a deception, will resonate deeply with fans for what concerns them. Izuku Midoriya.
In My Hero Academia 336, the fan theory that Yuga Aoyama was the Class 1-A traitor was finally confirmed. The truth is a little more nebulous, however, as it turns out that Aoyama was never a willing servant of All For One.
The origin of the flamboyant French hero is completely revealed – it turns out that it was him another young man born without his own quirk. That fact instantly links Aoyama’s story to the origins of Izuku Midoriya, a boy with no quirks, and brings together many other parts of the two boys’ story.
First the The blatant difference between Aoyama and Deku is that of their parents. Izuku’s mother loved him for who he was and mourned the cruel fate that did not allow him to become a hero like his idol All Might. Instead, Aoyama’s parents opted for the cowardice of fearing their son’s marginalization by society, and arranged for Aoyama to transfer the navel laser quirk to the devil himself, All For One.
This new element of connection between Izuku Midoriya and Aoyama Yuga also helps explain this strange encounter between the two during the healing course narrative arc (chapters 167-168). Aoyama had started pursuing Midoriya and leaving him behind the strange writing with cheese “I know”.
At the time, Deku freaked out thinking that Aoyama knew the secret of his One For All power. As it turned out, Aoyama revealed that he “knows” this. They shared a self-destructive quirk which made them both outsiders. This moment can now be seen in a different light. In reality, they shared the childhoods of two young men born with a dream too big not to have any idiosyncrasy.
