The Netflix Geeked Week is an annual event in June, with which the streaming service not only explores the upcoming projects, but also reveals some news. This year, Netflix planned several jobs with famous anime studios and from crossing with one of them, the project was born moonrise.

Moonrise will be an anime coming out on Netflix and which was produced in cooperation with WIT Studio, one of the most famous and highest quality anime studios in Japan. Not much information was given during the third day of Netflix Geeked Week, but it is certain that Masashi Koikuza, director of seasons 2 and 3 of The Attack of the Giants, will also be the director of Moonrise. The anime's writer will be Tow Ubukata instead and more information will be announced later.

For now that Moonrise poster, shown below, depicting a spatial and apocalyptic scenario with colors between red and black and a clear shade of blue with a moon rising in the sky. WIT Studio has revealed that this story will take place in the near future and will take place on both Earth and the Moon. Moonrise focuses on two men, Jack and Al, who must face different challenges in the wide world of space. The action scenes and overviews of the unexplored areas of the moon were illustrated with a new, unprecedented type of animation.

During the same event Netflix announced news about The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh.
