In the Moon Knight anthology announced by Marvel a few weeks ago, entitled Moon Knight: Black, White and Blood, several short stories are told around the “Fist of Khonshu”. Among these there will also be space for the debut of an unprecedented incarnation of Moon Knight come from the future.
In Moon Knight: Black, White and Blood #1, screenwriter Jonathan Hickman and artist Chris Bachalo introduce themselves “The Last Priest of Khonshu”, an adept of the Egyptian moon god who will work 6000 years in the future. The mission of this distant sequel to Moon Knight will be “travel through distant galaxies to avenge his forgotten god and master”.
This new character is therefore a disciple of Khonshu, just like Marc Spector, the original Moon Knight. Khonshu is a “true” Egyptian deity reimagined by Marvel Just like other mythologies, including Norse, which inspired the adventures of Thor, Loki and the other denizens of Asgard.
Marvel Comics he also published preliminary sketches by Chris Bachalo for the character design of the last priest of Khonshu that we propose below. Moon Knight: Black, White, and Blood #1Written by Jonathan Hickman, Marc Guggenheim, and Murewa Ayodele and illustrated by Chris Bachalo, Jorge FornΓ©s, and Dotun Akanda, will be released in the US on April 13, 2022.
First, though, we see Marc Spector’s debut on the small screen in the series with Disney+’s Lunar Knight (here’s the first Moon Knight trailer, arriving March 30).
