On the official site for the animated adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Youhei yasumura, Meikyuu Black Company (The Black Company dungeon), the cover art and details of the project’s first Blu-ray / DVD compilation package were revealed. This package will be released in Japan on September 29th.

This pack will be released in Japan on September 29th and contains the first through fourth episodes of this adaptation. The Blu-ray version costs 13,000 yen ($ 127) while the DVD version costs 12,100 yen ($ 116). Benefits include a brochure with production materials and an additional manga and original illustrations.

The series has aired in Japan since July 9th while Funimation takes care of the spread in the west. For his part, Yasumura began publishing the manga through the service Likes Comi from the publisher Likes garden in December 2016.

Production team

  • Mirai Minato (Masamune-kun no vengeance, Fate / Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya) is responsible for directing the anime in the studios SILVER LINK.
  • Decoration Akao (Akagami no Shirayuki-hime, Noragami, Flying witch) is responsible for writing and maintaining the scripts.
  • Yuki sahairi (Masamune-kun no vengeance, Kenja not a magician) is responsible for character design.

Summary of the Meikyuu Black Company

Kinji is a person who has no hint of work ethic or discipline as he considers them unnecessary and even annoying. One day he discovers that he has been transported to another world, not a fantasy world in which he is greeted as a hero who will defeat the Demon King or any other popular industrial cliché, but one in which he is enslaved to Mach a terrible job! As a slave to a malicious mining company, Kinji will learn the hard way what hard work means.
