The Mobile Suit Gundam franchise is about to be relaunched and taken to new heights. It was announced among the many upcoming projects Gundam 00 Revealed Chronicle. The series returns after more than ten years with a new CG anime.
gundam 00 entertained Mobile Suit fans between 2007 and 2008 and earned it the title of the first Sunrise-produced anime to air in high definition. The success has inspired three OVAs, a video game and even the theatrical adaptation Mobile Suit Gundam 00.
More than a decade later, Gundam 00 returns with the spin-off Revealed Chronicle. Set at the turn of the two anime seasons, you see Seiji Mizushimaformerly responsible for the original series, returns in the role of director.
Whether it will be a series or a feature film was not specified at the time of the announcement, nor was there any mention of one exit date. The Mobile Suits will be returning to theaters soon, as we can see from the Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island trailer.
Mobile Suit Gundam 00 is set in a torn future where fossil fuels have been exhausted and humanity is dependent on orbiting solar panels. The series follows the story of the four Gundam Meisters, a team that pilots powerfully Advanced generation mobile suit, try to create a new era of peace. However, their intervention triggers a conflict that threatens humanity.
