During the event Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online, the Company Level 5 announced that the anime adaptation of the multimedia project Megaton-Kyuu Musashi It will premiere during the 2021 summer season.

The multimedia project includes the anime adaptation, a cooperative action role-playing video game (to be released on the console) Nintendo switch, Playstation 4 and smartphones), a collaboration with the magazine Weekly shonen jump from the publisher Shueisha, a range of toys by Bandai toys and a spin-off anime called After school. The company has announced this project since 2016, but like all of its current projects, it has been postponed for three years.

Cast

Apparently, the cast has changed from what was originally disclosed in 2016, including:

  • Toshiki Masuda as Yamato Ichidaiji (previously listed with Masakazu Morita).
  • Souma saitou as Teru Asami (previously listed with Miyu Irino).
  • Shunsuke Takeuchi as Ryugo Hijikata (previously performed with Tatsuhisa suzuki).

Megaton-Kyuu Musashi Synopsis

The story takes place after ninety percent of humanity has disappeared due to an invasion. The survivors live in an animal shelter where their lives are monitored and memories of the invasion are erased. Three teenagers from the shelter are chosen to control three machines that together make up the legendary robot 2Musashi, made from a material known as “megatronium alloy”.
