The online auction house ComicConnect has auctioned A pristine copy of the very first House of Ideas comic: Marvel Comics #1dated August 1939. To win the auction, the buyer, who remained anonymous, had to bid a record $2.4 million.
Marvel Comics #1 Produced by Ben Thompson, Carl Burgos, Al Anders, Bill Everett and Paul Gustavson, is the comic that started the Marvel Universe. Among the stories collected in the Register were published when Marvel Comics was still known as Timely Comics the first appearances of Namor and the original Human TorchCharacters that still appear in the House of Ideas comics today.
Certified by the CGC with a score of 9.2, this copy of Marvel Comics #1 is unique: it is a “paid copy”. a copy used by the publisher to record payments to illustrators.
