Ken defeats his enemies using various techniques and thanks to Hokuto’s movements and his legendary battles with Shin, Souther and Raoh, he has become one of the most famous characters in the world of manga and anime. During the long publication in Weekly Shonen Jump, Buronson and Hara never mentioned Kenshiro’s last name. However, the two writers had given it some thought and included it in the pilot one shot for the series. In the very first draft of the story, which was then heavily modified, the full name of the character was Kenshiro Kasumi. However, during Ken the Warrior he was simply called Kenshiro, very often abbreviated as Ken.

As a result, the character’s name was not canonical, but only with the release of the prequel Souten no Ken, which focused on Ken’s uncle. Here the name was made public and official: Kenshiro KasumiThis fully confirms the protagonist’s personal data.
