On the official page for the original animation project by Netflix produced by studios MAPPA, Yasukea new promotional image has been released and it has been announced that the series will premiere on April 29th worldwide on the platform.

The series was announced during the Netflix Anime Festival 2020 ~ The Future of Anime Together ~ ‘in October 2020. The press release also confirmed that the series will have a total of six episodes.

  • LeSean Thomas ((Cannon buster) is responsible for producing and directing this original anime in the studios MAPPA.
  • Takeshi Koike ((Lupine III .: Chikemuri no Ishikawa Goemon, Redline) is responsible for the character design and the direction of animation.
  • Flying lotus ((Blade Runner: Black Out 2022, Mehr feat. Anderson .Paak) is responsible for the composition of the soundtrack and the executive production.

Yasuke synopsis

In the era of the Warring States, where mechanics and magic mingle, Yasuke, a wanderer who once withdrew from battle, takes up his sword again to protect a mysterious boy whose life is the target of an evil force. It is a fantasy-era drama that features an African samurai who served in the real-world story of Oda Nobunaga.
