MAPPA Studios has officially announced their latest original anime project, “ZENSHU,” scheduled to premiere on January 5, 2025. The announcement came with a new promotional video unveiled at Comic Con Experience Brazil.

BAND-MAID will perform the opening theme “Zen,” while Sou will perform the ending theme “Tada, Kimo no Mama.”

Creative Direction and Synopsis

The series follows Natsuko Hirose, a young animator-turned-director whose meteoric rise in the anime industry leads to an unexpected creative challenge. After her debut work becomes a remarkable success, Hirose faces a unique obstacle while directing her sophomore project—a romantic comedy about first love. Having never experienced romance herself, she struggles to develop the storyboard, bringing production to a halt.

The project represents a collaboration between Mitsue Yamazaki, Kimiko Ueno, and MAPPA Studios, bringing together veteran talent from various successful anime productions.
