Summary of Mahoutsukai Reimeiki

The war that had been waged between church and witches for five centuries finally ended peacefully, but only a few years ago. However, embedded in the gloomy places of the world, the embers of this ancient conflict still burns. A troubled student named Sable attending the Royal Academy of Magic in the Wenias Kingdom cannot remember his pre-enrollment time. Under Director Albus, he left the kingdom to travel to the southern foothills of the continent as part of a special training program, where anti-magical insurgents remain a force to be reckoned with. He is accompanied by a group of individuals who are strong in both capacity and personality; there is Roux Cristasse, known as the witch of the dawn, who seeks the forbidden knowledge of primitive magic in the “Grimoire of Zero”, the girl genius Holtz, and the only beast in the school, Kudd. What truth will they discover on their journey south …?
