It was reported that the first volume Blu-ray / DVD compilation of the second season of the animated adaptation of the light novels by Tsutomu Satou and illustrated by Kana ishida, Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei ((The irregulars at Magic High School), titled Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Raihousha hen ((The irregulars at Magic High School: Visitor sheet) reached 6,528 copies sold in the first week since its launch.
The compilation tape was released on December 16 in Japan and contains the first and second episodes of this second season. The Blu-ray version costs 7,700 yen (about $ 74) and sells 5,599 units, while the DVD version costs 6,600 yen (about $ 64) and sells 929 units.
On the other hand, the series has aired in Japan since October 3rd, and while it has never been officially confirmed, it is believed to have thirteen episodes in total. For his part, Satou began publishing light novels with illustrations by Kana Ishida through the publishing label Dengeki Bunko in July 2011. After completion, the author began publishing the successor novels Zoku Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Meijiang Company in October.

Synopsis of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei
“Magic” is nothing from legends or fairy tales. It’s been a real technology for almost a century. Education in different countries of the world is involved in the development of “magicians”. Shiba Tatsuya is an honorable student with no magical power who is attending high school, a magical high school with his younger sister who happens to be the best of the freshman’s students. What will happen to Shiba? How will he live his school life where he is one of the many non-magical users considered trash by others?
