Today, December 2nd, 2020, is the debut day of King in Black, the Marvel Comics crossover starring the most famous superheroes, from the Avengers to the X-Men. Fight together against the immortal Knull, The Avengers tried to move already in the first chapter of the story, but the strategy unfortunately ended with the death of a character.

First of all, it’s good to remember Marvel Comics recently revolutionized the Avengers, now stronger than ever thanks to the presence of veterans and the introduction of new recruits. Captain America and Iron Man are still important parts of the team, and alongside them have been charismatic heroes like Spider-Man and true gods like Robert “Bob” Reynolds, aka Sentry.

In the 2005 comic New AvengersSentry officially joined the team and was able to defeat Carnage by being launched into Earth’s atmosphere and torn in two. Later, the hero decided to stand on the side of Tony Stark during the Civil War, was accepted into the elite team of the “Mighty Avengers” and took part in the siege of Asgard. Literally defeat every superhero present before Loki stops them.

In the first edition of King in Black, Captain America decides to once again rely on Sentry, the strongest hero, to stop Knull, and at first the superhero’s attack seems to be successful. Unfortunately, the god of symbiotes knows the power of the enemy very well, and quickly reverses the situation by taking him by the neck and literally tearing him in two.

King in Black is still in its infancy, and writer Ryan Stegman promised no one would be safe. Marvel Comics has always suffered from a lack of celebrity antagonists, and who knows Knull may not be the next big bad guy.
