Jump Festa 2022 was marked by many interesting announcements and among the different productions presented during the event, the return of Kenshin Samurai Wanderer by animation studio Liden Films surprised fans of Nobuhiro Watsuki’s work. After months of silence, the first concrete information is finally available here.

At the time of the project’s presentation in December 2021, it was still unclear whether it would be a fully standalone anime, a series of animated feature films, or a remake of the Gallop and later Studio Deen anime. Now, with the details released by Liden Films, this has been clarified the anime, arriving in 2023, it will be a reboot and one of the main goals will be to faithfully represent Watsuki’s manga, in contrast to the adaptation that was published from 1994 to 1999.

Kenshin and Kaoru Kamiya’s voice actors, Soma Saito and Rie Takahashi respectively, were also announced and both characters were featured in the first key visual, shown below. In addition, the last seconds of the trailer, which you always find at the bottom of the page, show the meeting of the two after taking turns spectacularly Kenshin’s combat and training sequences.
