It was reported that the first compiled Blu-ray tape was the animated adaptation of the light novels Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko ((By the grace of the gods) only 664 copies were sold within a week of launch.

The volume was released on January 13th in Japan and contains the first to fourth episodes of this adaptation as well as an illustration booklet, the first to fourth episodes of the short series and part of the soundtrack. The package costs 10,800 yen (about $ 104) and didn’t have a DVD version.

Roy started posting the novels on the website Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2015, and it’s still in publication. The editorial Hobby Japan began publishing the paper novels with illustrations by Ririnra in September 2017 and released the ninth volume on August 22nd. The animated adaptation with twelve episodes was broadcast in Japan in October 2020 and distributed worldwide by Funimation.

Synopsis of Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko

Under the protection of the gods, his relaxed life begins with the slimes! One day, the life of a middle-aged Japanese named Ryoma Takebayashi ends spontaneously and disappointingly. Ryoma was never graceful in his life, but after death three gods asked for his cooperation and incarnated him as a boy in a world full of swords and magic..
