The last chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen got readers to investigate the aftermath of the Shibuya incident and set the stage for the manga’s next story arc, which appears to have major revelations about the protagonist Yuji Itadori’s family.
Before the events of his life took a supernatural turn, Yuji lived in Company of his grandfather, the last living relative. Since Gege Akutami’s work began, the boy’s parents have been shrouded in a thick fog of secrets that will soon be revealed.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 143 takes up the bloody cliffhanger who saw Yuji stabbed in the heart by Yuta. In a semi-unconscious state, the protagonist has a strange dream in which he sees his parents clearly.
The first to be introduced is Yuji’s father, who has a heated argument. Yuji’s grandfather warns father Jin to “give up on this woman” otherwise it will die. The grandfather also mentions someone named Kaori, but is immediately interrupted by a female character who calls him father-in-law. What is particularly worrying, however, is the subsequent revelation of the woman who is believed to be Yuji’s mother.
The review ends abruptly with a close-up of Yuji’s alleged mother. The woman presents some strange symbols on the foreheadreminiscent of the wrong things to do, the “empty” eyes and a macabre smile.
