The 33-year-old has been detained at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center since December 7th, with no bail option.
Stefan Koza, an American of Japanese descent, has been one of VIZ Media’s leading translators for three years and has worked on Dragon Ball Super, ONE PIECE, and We Never Learn throughout his career. Recently he has been translating jujutsu kaisenbut its prevalence in the USA remains confirmed. Volume 8 will be released in February, while the release of subsequent volumes is expected to experience some delays.
The police have not given precise information on the amount of material Koza downloaded and distributed online, but the allegations appear to be quite serious and the boy will hardly be able to evade jail. The first hearing is scheduled for March 3, 2021, when we will know the actual scope of the verdict. At the moment, VIZ Media has not commented on what happened.
However, the spread of Jujutsu Kaisen does not stop in other countries. In Japan, volume 14 of the manga will be released tomorrow, while in Italy volume six will be released on January 14th.
