Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the titles of the moment, a work exploded thanks to a really extraordinary animated adaptation. Studio MAPPA actually pulled the muscles out to guarantee Gege Akutami’s manga a worthy television transposition. The series even challenges Demon Slayer directly.
Just over a week ago, the manga had sold more than 45 million copies, an impressive number for a title that’s been on for such a short time. Either way, the franchise challenges the Demon Slayer monster head-on, even though revenue growth is on a very different path between the two sides.
Self Demon Hunter exploded immediately after the anime ended or almost so, Jujutsu Kaisen, on the other hand, was destined for success So much so that the fans understood the ambitions of Shueisha and Studio MAPPA from the first episodes. As you can see from the chart at the bottom of the news, Gege Akutami’s manga sales have taken a massive jump with the TV series launch and could continue to grow at those rates until the release of the Jujutsu Kaisen movie, if not beyond. What is certain, however, is that at the moment this appears to be the only new series that can challenge the jewel of Koyoharu Gotouge.
However, do you think the series will be able to outperform Demon Slayer’s sales in the coming months? Let us know what you think about this with a comment below.
